Why must it rain during my weekends?

Back up in Auckland for the four day weekend (*’з’*) It hasn’t even been a month since I went down to Wellington. Yeah I’m a little spoiled.

Quite pleased with how 2011 turned out. Worked hard at uni, part-time job, met a ton of awesome people (online haha), went back to HK, started job searching early and luckily got a job before my last assessment finished… I wonder how much of this was dependent on luck?

These days I think that if you’ve honestly gave it your all and used all your time wisely instead of screwing around doing insignificant things, then there should be no reason for not getting what you want. And if you aren’t… maybe there’s another way of achieving your goal?

Wellington – the captial, the windy city

We had a team lunch that started with our team travelling to a yumcha place in the city center from just before noon and ended at 3 in the afternoon, after a very long detour back to work which stopped by some touristy view point up on some hill somewhere and Oriental Bay, a (very nice) beach somewhat reminiscent of Mission Bay in Auckland.

I’m actually heading back up home for the new years :D $89 going up, $49 going back down. It’s barely been three weeks and I’m going home already lol.

Missing my cat and desktop computer badly. I think I have to play some TF2 when I get back >_<

I think I had more to say before I started typing but that seems to be the case whenever I feel like rambling about some shit lately :V

Blogs without pictures are boring

You know what has pictures? My twitter. I know friends read this blog to see if I am still alive or what I’m up to and I do feel awful that I no longer post occasionally like I used to, but now I feel like I either use my blog to complain or brag about my life.

Anyhow, settled in to my place in Wellington now. This isn’t the first time I’ve lived alone but it is the first time I’ve moved down past the middle of the North Island. The actual flight down is less than an hour so it’s not that far from where I used to live in Auckland.

Before I moved down I did some research and apparently the rest of the country calls Aucklanders JAFA or in full, Just Another Fucking Aucklander (lol) and the further down South you go the more they hate them. But nope. Wellingtonians are nice. Nicer than Aucklanders anyway. If you are peering at a restaurant’s menu outside passersby will tell you if that place is good or not and even the bus drivers greet you on the bus. And apparently this is the city of hipsters (´_ゝ`) The shops and boutiques they have around here are a bit more hipster-ish than Auckland too with all the self made / designer stuff they stock but I guess this could be a nice change.

Well Wellington is pretty compact compared to Auckland. It is a bitch to get anywhere in Auckland. My commute to work / uni used to take a bloody hour long one way but not so anymore. Now it only takes a 5 minute bus ride to work (yeah I know, I should walk) or 15 minute walk to get to the city shops and probably around 30 minute walk to get to the waterfront.

Hopefully I will continue to be ambitious and update this again so you can alllll know about my wonderful and solitary life here on my own.
